Gingerbread jumbles and Holiday cheer at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum
OTTAWA, December 17, 2014 – This Holiday season, once you’ve opened the gifts and shared good times with visiting friends and relatives, don’t miss the opportunity to come enjoy some fresh air at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum (CAFM) for a Winter Frolic at the Farm.
At the Market Square in the new Learning Centre, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about all the hard work our pioneer ancestors had to do to make sure they spent a comfortable winter, such as carding wool, pumping water and much more. Younger visitors will have the opportunity to dress up as pioneers, and to make crafts they can take home.
Those with a sweet tooth won’t be able to resist some of the tasty recipes that will be on offer – fresh-made – in the demonstration kitchen. In keeping with the pioneer-era theme, there will be some molasses taffy pulling, as well as gingerbread jumble-making.
These wonderful family activities will be taking place at the CAFM from December 26 until January 4. Please note that over the holidays, the Museum will be open Monday and Tuesday December 29 and 30.
