How often do you let perfectly edible food go uneaten? Join the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum for an entertaining and informative evening on the farm and get ready to Face the Waste.
Did you know that about one third of all food produced globally is wasted? In Canada alone, an estimated $27 billion of food ends up in landfills every year. This is a problem with no easy solution. However, we can all take steps to act locally and help change the way we think about our food.
Spend an evening learning how a local organization, Hidden Harvest Ottawa, picks and shares urban food tree crops which would otherwise go wasted. Following this engaging talk, participate in cooking some flavorful popcorn and sit back to enjoy a special screening of the Canadian-made documentary, Just Eat It: A Food Waste Story (2014).
This leading-edge food literacy event is supported by the Louis Bonduelle Foundation.
