The Canada Agriculture and Food Museum has teamed up with local restaurants and embassies to present monthly workshops where guests discover and delight in the tastes of international cuisine. This month we proudly present: The Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Ottawa.

Join us as Chef Ìsmet Saz displays his culinary talents harvested from his experience as restauranteur, Executive Chef, teacher, TV host and author. His cooking demonstration will showcase three of his favourite dishes inspired by his native Turkish cuisine. Over the course of the evening, you will have the opportunity to dazzle your taste buds with samples of the country’s rich flavours.

Chef Ìsmet Saz- Executive Chef and restaurant owner from Istanbul

From an early age, Chef Ìsmet Saz was convinced that cuisine would be where he could express his creativity freely.  He opened the first Dean&Deluca restaurant in Kanyon, Istanbul and also worked in the opening team as Chef in Alacati Alavya Hotel and Fogo Restaurant. He brought his long years kitchen experiences to G2M being Channel Marketing Manager and Corporate Executive Chef.  He wrote his first cookbook HOT during to this position.

During his career he has worked with chefs such as Carlo Bernardini in Turkey and Julio Velazquez, Franco Paterno, Gordon Ramsay and Marcus Glocker in New York. He has taught catering and culinary lessons at the 2 universities in Istanbul while also making weekly TV shows on the food channel of BeIN Gourmet. He is currently the owner and the Chef of TOI Restaurant whose name means Trust of Ismet.
