The Canada Agriculture and Food Museum launches a new spring season with its annual A Fascinating Barnyard March Break Foodology. On this occasion visitors can take in a wide variety of demonstrations from Bread Chemistry, to Eggsperiments to Taffy-ology: The Science of Maple Taffy Making. Additionally, children can get creative and keep themselves busy with a maple-themed craft. So come for a fascinating experience at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum this March Break!

Bread Chemistry (9:45)
Physical Changes, chemical changes, yeast, and protein chains; want to discover the fascinating chemistry of bread making? Start your Foodology journey with a hands-on bread making demonstration.

Eggsperiments (12:00 and 3:30)
Do you know how to tell whether an egg is fresh or rotten? Hard-boiled or raw? Why are some eggs brown while others are white? What are the odds of a chick hatching in your frying pan? This novel and interactive demonstration promises to shed some light on the eggstraordinary contents of the ordinary grocery store dozen in your fridge.

Taffy-ology: The Science of Maple Taffy Making (10:15, 11:30, 1:30, 3:00)
There are very few things that mark this time of year quite as sweetly as maple taffy. Visitors will be able to discover the science behind transforming maple syrup into taffy, taste a sample, and take in a variety of maple sugaring equipment and historical photos that will be on display in the classroom.
